Efficient Modeling and Simulation of a Virtually Shared Memory Architecture

چکیده
Modeling and simulation have been assigned crucial roles in the design, development, analysis and evaluation of computer architectures. The design of parallel architectures in particular is a complex and difficult endeavor that makes modeling and simulation essential tools. In this case, high simulation performance is a prerequisite since, large workloads need to be simulated for a realistic analysis of the parallel system. This paper presents the approach that has been followed for the modeling and simulation of PiSMA, a virtual shared memory parallel architecture, scaleable up to 100s of processors.

Collective Memory as a Measure to Evaluate the Infill Architecture Innovations in Historic Contexts (Case Study: Historic Context of Imamzadeh Yahya in Tehran)
Historic contexts remind us of an era when cities were built based on the needs, goals, and preferences of their inhabitants. In other words, the mental world of both the builders and the inhabitants was closely interrelated. But by ignoring citizens' memories and interests and their mental needs, today's interventions with rapid developments within historic contexts have led to amnesia and the...
متن کاملModeling and Performance Evaluation of Multi-Processors Organization with Shared Memories
This paper is primarily concerned with theoretical evaluation of the performance of multiprocessors system. A markovian waiting line model has been developed for various different multi-processors configurations, with shared memory. The system is analysed at the request level rather than job level.

Single-chip parallel computer architectures may provide a solution to the wire latency problem expected as device fecture sizes shrink. Hence the development of efficient single-chip parallel computer is an active area of research. Extensive design space exploration of such architectures requires an architectural simulator that evaluates both power and performance. The available parallel comput...
متن کاملMultilevel Parallel Programming for Three-Dimensional Voronoi Cell Finite Element Modeling of Heterogeneous Materials
In this paper we present work aimed at implementing an efficient parallel model for the three-dimensional Voronoi cell finite element model (VCFEM), which has been developed as an effective tool for modeling heterogeneous microstructures of composite, porous or polycrystalline materials, on SMP cluster systems. In these systems, multiprocessor nodes offer shared memory on the node and distribut...
متن کاملModeling System Architecture and Resource Constraints Using Discrete-Event Simulation
Optimizing system resource utilization is a key design objective for system engineers in communications, electronics, and other industries. System resources such as processors, memory, or bandwidth on a communication bus are often shared by various components in the system. To understand the utilization of a shared resource, system engineers must do two things: identify constraints on the resou...
